Complete the steps below to register for the trek.
Please read carefully the following criteria’s before registering for the trek.
We go to great lengths to keep you safe on your trek. However, trekking with the safest organisation in India comes with certain commitments from your end. Here is our eligibility criteria:
Eligibility criteria explained:
A Himalayan trek like Valley Of Flowers requires good fitness level. You trek upto an altitude of 14,100 ft at Hemkund Sahib from 6234 ft at Govind Ghat. As a measure of your fitness, we require you to be able to run at least 5 km in 40 minutes by the time your trek starts. This is a minimum, mandatory requirement.
After you register and confirm your trek, we have a process of checking your fitness. Our team will also assist in putting you through a fitness plan. This will ultimately help you have a safe and good trek experience.
The BMI upper limit for any Himalayan trek is 28. Check your BMI here. If you are above 28, it indicates that you may not be able to tackle natural emergencies that occur or may not be able to match the pace of the team.
For your safety, we want to exercise caution here. Show us your current level of fitness. This will help us gauge whether you can get to our expected level of fitness by the time the trek starts (as mentioned in point 1).
Download a running app (eg: Nike Run Club, Strava), record a walk where you cover 4 km in 42 minutes and take a screenshot of your walk. Send this screenshot to your Trek Coordinator on anuj.chauhan@theindiacamps.com along with the batch date and the name of the trek. Our trek coordinator will respond to you in less than 24 hours.
But your age should not stop you from going on a trek. We are only a call away to suggest the best trek for you based on your trek experience and fitness level.
Smoking and drinking are strictly prohibited on our treks. These can be fatal at high altitude. So even if you are a smoker, you are expected to keep away from it during the trek. You will be sent back to the basecamp if you are found smoking or drinking.
We strongly advocate sustainable trekking. We have a Green Trails policy where we pick up litter left behind by others and manage our waste responsibly. We segregate our waste. We carry no disposables. We believe in minimal consumption. We also follow strong forest and trek etiquette to leave the mountains as quiet and peaceful as they are.
