Reaching the ancient & sacred site of Shrikhand Mahadev
The Shrikhand Mahadev trek is a pilgrim trail that leads to the Shrikhand Mahadev peak (5227 meters/17150 ft.) named after Lord Shiva. The key attraction of this trek is the breathtaking view of the Himalayan ranges from Parvati valley of Kullu, Jorkandan, Rangrik ranges of Kinnaur and Hansbeshan and other surrounding peaks in the south east of Satluj river. The trek can be done either from Nirmand side or Arsu side. The popular and widely travelled route is from the Nirmand – Jaon village side. To reach the base camp, you have to drive from Shimla towards Rampur and cross the river Satluj to enter Niramand region of Kullu district and drive till Jaon Village. Shrikhand Mahadev, one of the toughest pilgrimages in India, is known for Lord Shiva in Hindu Mythology. It also makes a thrilling and adventurous trek in Himachal. It takes you amidst the lavish and beautiful setup of mighty Himalayas to the top of the Shrikhand Mahadev peak. The trek ascends through the alpine meadows to a 72 feet pinnacle of rock called Shivlinga. A few glaciers also have to be crossed before reaching the majestic peak of Shrikhand.
Detailed itinerary for Shrikhand Mahadev Trek
You will have to reach Chandigarh by yourself. We will pick you from Chandigarh & drive to Jaon. It will be around 06 hours drive. Reaching there, check-in at homestay.
Today we will start our first day trek early morning. This will be a long trek of 12 Kms. On arrival at Thachdu, we will stay at camp. Dinner & overnight at same camp.
Our next day trek is also long. First we will cross Kali Ghati after 05 kms from Thachdu & then we will move to Bheemdwar. It will be a scenic but steep trek. Dinner & overnight at camp site in Bheemdwar.
A trek like no other, beautiful & high in altitude. Today is the day of Darshan at Shrikhand Mahadev. Later after darshan we will come back to same camp at Bheemdwar. Dinner & overnight
Again following the same route, we will go back to Thachdu at the same camp site
Following the same route, we will walk back to Jaon & check-in at same homestay. Dinner & overnight there.
In the morning after breakfast, check-out and transfer you back to Chandigarh. It will be again a journey of around 6 hours.

We will pick you from railway station/ bus stand from Chandigarh. Our pick up team will be there waiting for you bewteen morning 5 A.M. to 7:30 A.M. In case you are late you need to be in touch with our trek coordinator mentioned in the booking voucher.
