One of the most iconic and historical shepherd’s trails in India Himalayas is Pin Bhaba Pass Trek. When it comes to experience the different landscape in Himalayas and observe the everyday mystical climatic condition then there is only one trek which came to our mind is Bhaba Pass. On this trek, everyday is new beginning comes with new challenges. Here not only you will observe a trail which will lead you amidst the Pin & Bhaba Valley which has been an ancient route to traders and shepherds but also Kashmir and Uttarakhand kind of landscapes and amazing culture in the valley. Unlike other treks in Himalayas, the dense Devdar forest at the beginning of this trek is enchanting. The first day of trek in incomparable to any other treks. The blue flowing river, the lush green forest and the forest fragrance will amazed you in so many ways. The next days are treks are bit tiring and challenging as you gradually ascending up. Here during the gradual ascending you will observe a Kashmir-Like mountains comes closer with wide valley and glacier fed river streams roaring. We will pitch up our tents at higher altitude ground. All of sudden you will reach at Karah, which is an amazing grassland. There is so much that Pin Bhaba trek has to offer you that one may get confused which scenery or which mountain side is to capture first which to second.
Detailed itinerary for Pin Bhaba Pass Trek
On the first day of you journey, you have to reach Kafnu by yourself. Kafnu is a small & remotest village in middle Himalayas which is 205 Kms from Shimla. From Shimla you can take a car or hire a taxi to reach Kafnu, located in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Reaching Kafnu, check-in at homestay and enjoy a relaxing night with nice food offered there. It is important to have relaxing night before we hit our trek to Pin Bhaba Pass.
Morning after breakfast load ferry and get ready to hit the first day of our trek to Mulling which lies at an altitude of 3220 Meter. This is a nice walking day countering dense Pine forest, scenic middle Himalayan valley and upscale gradual climb from Kafnu to Mulling. At Mulling top, we will pitch up our tents for overnight stay.
Today after breakfast we will start our second day of trekking towards Karah which lies at an altitude of 3552 Meter. This is mainly a rocky terrain which we will be going to cover with a bit of crossing to glacier fed river Bhaba. After passing the meadow, start to walk for another 1.2 km to reach the campsite near a water stream. You will find pristine lake within 200 meters from the campsite. The lake appears the breathtaking views when it’s sunny. We will reach Karah early and pitch up our tents there. Day will be free for leisure to roam around. Overnight at Karah campsite.
This is the shortest day of trek. We will be entering in higher Himalayas from Karah to Phutsirang (4150 Meter). The first day of our patch will be covered with crossing the delta of Bhaba River. Later we will come across the murrains area which is a big patch of big boulders and loose mud at high altitude. Here we will continue our trek and reach Phutsirang by afternoon. Phutsirang is really beautiful high altitude grass land which will amazed you. Our half day will be free at Phutsirang. We advice you to participate in physical training or exercise in the evening because tomorrow we really going to climb an extreme site of Bhaba Pass. Overnight at Phutsirang.
Today is our summit day. We will start at around 8 AM chase the mighty trail of Pin Bhaba Pass. The climb is steep & tiring. Breathe yourself for an exciting day of Pin Bhaba Pass Summit day. Trekkers who will climb and chase this trail can advice you that this stretch is thrilling with no doubt but really challenging too. From the highest point of this Pin Bhaba Pass (4150 Meter from where we have started) (4950 Meter from where we will again get down from different side at an altitude of again 4150 Meter). We will reach to Mangrungse, here we will pitch up our camp for overnight stray.
Today from 4150 Meter to getting down to mudh at an altitude of 3750 Meter. This will be a scenic but long descending from Pin Bhaba Pass side to Spiti Valley. In the late evening you will reach by Mudh, a beautiful remote village in Spiti. We will either pitch up our tents here pr will stay at any homestay/lodge in the village for overnight.
Today is the last day of our journey. We will drive back from Mudh to Manali, which is 200 Kms and will take almost entire day. Reaching Manali, you will be transferred to suggested place in the town wherever you wish to go or stay or advice us.

We will pick you from railway station/ bus stand from Kafnu. Our pick up team will be there waiting for you bewteen morning 5 A.M. to 7:30 A.M. In case you are late you need to be in touch with our trek coordinator mentioned in the booking voucher.
