About Hampta Pass

Hampta Pass trek offers adventure enthusiasts an ample opportunity to discover unique landscape of Manali & Spiti on another side of the trek. It is a trekkers dream to kick start there trek from the lush green valley to reaching barren landscape and then moving & passing the difficulties of overhanging glaciers & towering high mountains. This trek gives you everything. From the starting point of Manali to the ending point at Chandra Taal, you will observe the different landscape of Himalayas. Manali, once the capital of adventure is still preserving some of the well known circuit and trekking routes and one of those trekking route of Hampta Pass. A ancient shepherd pass which connects the upper part of Manali to Chatru (way to Kaza) and later emerged into the deep valley of Chandra River . The paranomic slopes of the valley from the summit of Hampa Pass will leave of spellbound forever.


About Routing

This trek is basically start from Jobra, which is an upper located village in Manali and from Jobra you will leave the human settlement behind & start climbing toward Balu ka Ghera, a flat land and an ideal camping ground. From here, our goal is to reach Siagoru while on the way we will summit Hampta Pass and celebrate it. And then we will move down from Chatru. Once we will reach Chatru, we will be in the road which connects Kullu Valley to Spiti Valley. After that, a short sightseeing to Chandra Taal and exploring nearby areas. Next day we will take our car back to Manali. On arrival in Manali you will be free for your own or can hang out at any bar at the Mall Road to celebrate this victory which will be with you lifelong!

Detailed itinerary for Hampta Pass Trek with Chandra Taal

1
Day 01: Manali – Jobra Drive & Jobra – Chikka Trek (10100 Ft)
Test

Morning you will have to assemble at given point and time in Manali. After meet & greet we will brief you about the trek and then we will kick start our drive to the base camp of Jobra. Reaching Jobra, we will climb to our first goal today called Chikka. With the mesmerizing views of the mountains around, you will barely feel the climb today then trek through the nice meadow along side Rani River. Reaching Chikka, we will pitch up our tents for overnight stay.

Day 02 : Chikka – Balu Ka Ghera (Easy to Moderate – 05 Hrs)

The Pir Panjal ranges surrounded trek, today it take us from Chikka heights of 10100 Feet to Balu Ka Ghera at the height of 10900 Feet. Snow covered peaks, towering high Pir Panjal, from today you will be entering in barren landscape. Reaching at Balu ka Ghera, we will pitch up our tents.

Day 03 : Balu ka Ghera – Siagoru – Crossing Hampta Pass (8 Hrs)

Today we are entering in high altitude zone from Balu ka Ghera (10900 Feet) to Siagoru (12900 Feet) and then crossing Hampta Pass at the height of (14100 Feet). Today’s climbing is long, tiring and barren in the high altitude zone. Overnight halt at Siagoru.

Day 04 : Siagoru – Chatru Trek – Chandartaal Drive
Test

Today we are going simply down. The breathtaking views of Siagoru (12900 Feet) to Chatru (11100 Feet) will amaze you. Chatru is a barren landscape / cold dessert which is the confluence of Spiti, Rohtang Valley & Hampta Valley of Pir Panjal. Reaching Chatru, we will drive to visit Chandra Taal – a round shape Himalayan High Altitude Pond. Overnight at tents in nearby.

Day 05 : Chandrataal – Manali drive – Departure
Test

Today is the final day of our trek. We have completed this trek with great courage & zeal. Today we will drive from Chandra Taal to Manali (5 – 6 hours drive) passing through Rohtang Pass (13050 Feet). Later reaching Manali in the afternoon or evening, you will be transferred at Manali bus stand or Mall Road for your own.

We will pick you from railway station/ bus stand from Manali. Our pick up team will be there waiting for you bewteen morning 5 A.M. to 7:30 A.M. In case you are late you need to be in touch with our trek coordinator mentioned in the booking voucher.

We understand that there could be unforeseen circumstance under which a traveller has to cancel his trip. However a trip booking and planning also incur some cost from our end. Keeping in mind mutual benefit of India camps travel community we have designed cancellation poilicy of this tour.

  • Cancel up to 30 days before trek start date and get full refund.
  • Cancel up to 15 days before trek start date and get 70% refund.
  • Cancel up to 7 days before trek start date and get 50% refund.
  • Cancel within 7 days of trek start date and the cost of the full reservation is non-refundable.
  • Refunds will be processed within 7-10 working days from the date of cancellation.
  • In case of refund, 2.5% (Payment processing charges) will be applicable.
